It has been a year since India ended their 17-year wait for a T20 World Cup title, securing the trophy with a thrilling final victory over South Africa at Kensington Oval.

India held their composure in a tense contest that went to the final over, ultimately clinching the title and ending years of disappointment. The victory was the result of a superb campaign in which India remained undefeated, demonstrating dominance, character, and resilience.

A highlight of the tournament was the electrifying match between rivals India and Pakistan.

"It wasn’t just a game," Rohit remembered. "Two days before the match, we were locked in – tight security, fans everywhere, you could feel something special was coming. It felt like a festival."

India narrowly defeated Pakistan by six runs in a tense, low-scoring match. Jasprit Bumrah was named Player of the Match for his outstanding performance of 3 for 14.

Despite an early batting collapse that saw Kohli, Rohit, and Axar dismissed quickly, Rishabh Pant's aggressive 42 off 31 balls helped India reach a total of 119.

"On that pitch, his 42 was like scoring 70," Rohit stated. "We knew 140 was par, but with our bowlers, even 119 could work."

Rohit praised Bumrah and Arshdeep Singh for their flawless execution of the plan. "Bumrah is a weapon – he takes wickets and dries up runs. Arshdeep’s been brilliant too, and they were crucial in pushing the game in our favour."

Rohit's reflection, from the electric atmosphere of the India-Pakistan clash to the nail-biting final in Barbados, serves as a strong homage to a team that provided a country unforgettable memories.
