The Orcas successfully chased down a daunting target of 238 – the highest in MLC history – thanks to Hetmyer's composure under pressure. He smashed Kieron Pollard for a six to secure the win.

Earlier, MI New York set a formidable 237/4, led by Nicholas Pooran's unbeaten 108 off 60 balls, featuring 7 fours and 8 sixes. Tajinder Dhillon also contributed with a rapid 95 off 35 deliveries.

Despite the onslaught, the Orcas' bowlers Gerald Coetzee and Kyle Mayers each took two wickets.

Seattle's chase began poorly, losing Josh Brown and Shayan Jahangir early.

Kyle Mayers (37 off 20) and captain Sikandar Raza (30 off 9) launched a counterattack. Heinrich Klaasen added a quick 26 off 13 balls before falling to Rushil Ugarkar.

Hetmyer's heroics then took center stage.

With the required run rate increasing, Hetmyer accelerated, scoring an unbeaten 97 off 40 balls, including 5 fours and 9 sixes, at a strike rate of 242.50.

In the final over, with five runs needed, Hetmyer faced Pollard, hitting the ball over fine leg for a six, securing the victory.

"This one is one of the best, because our backs were against the wall," said Hetmyer, who was named Player of the Match.
