Arshdeep Singh Reveals Playful Wrestling Bouts with Bowling Coach Morne Morkel
A recent viral video captured a lighthearted moment during Team India's net session in Birmingham, showing pacers Arshdeep Singh and Akash Deep engaging in playful wrestling with bowling coach Morne Morkel.
Neither Arshdeep nor Akash Deep featured in the playing XI that faced a five-wicket defeat at Headingley.
In a video shared by the BCCI, left-arm pacer Arshdeep Singh shed light on the story behind the entertaining visuals. He explained Morkel's unique approach to concluding practice sessions.
According to Arshdeep, Morkel declared, "The moment your practice session concludes, I'll execute a final move and pin you down. After that, no more practice!" This playful wrestling became Morkel's innovative method for signaling the end of the day's training. "He has found a new way to call off the day and he was just showing us that," Arshdeep added.
Currently, India trails the five-match series 0-1, following their loss at Headingley after a promising start. England secured a five-wicket victory in the first Test, successfully chasing down a target of 371 runs on the final day.
There's speculation surrounding Jasprit Bumrah's participation in the remaining matches. Due to workload management, he is expected to play only three out of the five games, with possibilities of him sitting out of the second Test.
